Travel Directions

By Road:

York is only a few miles off the M1 and A1 London-Edinburgh highway.  
From whichever direction you approach, access is easy via the 
A64 York Bypass or A1237 Outer Ring Road which avoids the City Centre.

Approaching York from the South:

Follow the A1 North or M1 North (via A1 link) to where they join the A64 Leeds - York/Scarborough road.  Take the A64 towards York/Scarborough and follow for approx. 19 miles until you reach the first traffic roundabout (i.e. Do not take the first A1036 turn - carry on the A64 past A19 and A1079/A166 turns).
At the first traffic roundabout, take the first exit signed A1237 and A1036. At next roundabout (approx. 150 meters), take the first exit signed A1036 York (Malton Road).
Take the first left (approx.300 metres) by the Toby Carvery/Hopgrove Pub into Hopgrove Lane South, signed Hopgrove and Stockton-on-Forest.  At first T junction, turn right, signed York - this is Stockton Lane.  The Blakeney Hotel is on the left after 11/2 miles.

Approaching York from the North:

Follow the A1(M) South to where it joins the A59 Harrogate - York road.  Take the A59 towards York until you reach the A1237.
Turn left (first exit) onto the A1237 York Outer Ring Road, signed Scarborough, Malton.  Follow A1237 towards Scarborough (going straight on at several roundabouts) until you reach roundabout where the second exit is signed A1036 York (Malton Road).  Take the A1036 towards York.
Take the first left (approx.300 metres) by the Toby Carvery/Hopgrove Pub into Hopgrove Lane South, signed Hopgrove and Stockton-on-Forest.  At first T junction, turn right, signed York - this is Stockton Lane.  The Blakeney Hotel is on the left after 11/2 miles.

By Rail:   

A short journey by road from York Main Line Station which has direct links to London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Leeds and Peterborough.
