Situated in a leafy residential area, just 7 minutes by bus or 20 minutes on foot with views of the Minster to the historic York  City walls and attractions. Also within easy reach of the Yorkshire countryside, on the Coastliner bus route which visits Pickering Scarborough and Whitby ( ideal if you have a bus pass!). We are also ideally situated for York University (including the Borthwick Institue for family history archives) and St John University, as well as Heworth Golf Club and Monks Cross Shopping centre.

 

York is steeped in history and boasts wonderful walks, great shopping, restaurants and bars, two theatres, horse racing, the famous Minster, National Railway Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre and many other world class attractions and events.

 

 Rooms are all en-suite and contain flat screen T.V. with freeview, soft white towels, a well stocked hospitality tray and complimentry toiletries. Rooms include doubles, twins, triples, & family as well as a  newly refurbished, disabled friendly ground floor room. Blakeney House is ideal for business trips, leisure breaks or longer stay to get away from it all. We offer one night stays and welcome cyclists,( situated on the east side of York ideal for the 'Way of the Roses') Secure lock up for bikes is available.

Bed & Breakfast in York

Breakfast is freshly cooked every morning, offering traditional English ( locally sourced where possible), lighter options i.e. poached eggs on toast and Daily Specials which may include Smoked salmon with scrambled egg on a toasted muffin or Creamy mushrooms on ciabatta. There is a good choice on our buffet including cereals, fruit juices, yogurts and freshly prepared fruit salad. We also cater for vegetarians and gluten free diets.

Looking for somewhere to dine out in the evening?  Please ask as York has an enviable choice of restaurants and the excellent Walnut Tree Pub Restaurant is only 5 minutes walk.
